In a heart-to-heart talk at the India Today Woman Summit & Awards 2013, Sridevi described what it meant to be a screen goddess and a doting mother at the same time. She charmed the audience with anecdotes from her personal experiences.
Talking about her arch rival Madhuri Dixit, she said that contrary to the public belief, both the ladies were in good terms. Apparently, they were both busy with their respective careers back then. She also added that Madhuri was always warm and humble whenever they would meet. Sri mentioned she enjoyed dancing with Madhuri on a recent TV show and would also love to do a film with her.
Though Sri herself is the favorite of many, she has many favorites in the industry. Off the current lot of actors, she mentioned her favorites as Vidya Balan in Kahaani, Kareena Kapoor in Talaash and Priyanka Chopra in Barfi. She also admitted that she is a great fan of Meryl Streep and wished she got to play the roles essayed by the Hollywood legend.
Be it her fitness regime of playing Tennis, her love for motherhood, the changing trends in the film industry, or her concern regarding the growing sexual crimes in big cities, Sri poured her heart out at this special summit.
Lastly, when it was hubby Boney's turn to talk about his famous wife, he explained how he wooed Sri's mom first by offering her Rs 11 lakh when she had sought Rs 10 lakh for her daughter (for a film). He mentioned that it was years of relentless pursuit, including a trip to Switzerland when he finally convinced Sridevi that a married Boney was indeed serious about her.
